Getting There Is Half The Fun

British Air is the way to go. Crew was actually very friendly and very accommodating and very happy - a nice change from domestic airline crews. Minimal upgrade to World Traveler Plus well worth it - much more seat room and a smaller cabin.
Then, three trains to Barnstaple out on the Devon Coast.
Beautiful green countryside with lots of cows and sheep (lambing season - did you know that lambs are usually born as twins?)
Asked at the local corner store where to get a good Indian meal and walked 5 min. off the High Street for an excellent curry.
Good sleep at the Royal and Fortescue Hotel.
Porridge (oatmeal) for breakfast, lots of good, strong coffee, and now off to walk around Barnstaple before taking a bus (that's always an experience) to Westward Ho! (yes, that's really the name of our next town) and the beginning of our walk proper.
Don't know where or when the next internet connection will be.
Don't really care.
Being on vacation is great.
